Proposal gift for bridesmaid/groomsmen

I was thinking of putting a box together filled with random gifts for bridesmaid/groomsmen for around $75-100 each person. I don't have the money to pay for their dresses/suits so I was thinking would it be a good idea if I had an envelope of cash in the box to say that I'm at least chipping in a bit? Or I should just spend the full amount on gifts that they would like? Or do you guys have ideas on what I can buy for them?
