Potluck

Allen, on February 4, 2019 at 21:16 Posted in Wedding reception 0 11
So I am having a potluck for my wedding,I am 2.5months away and I am assigning people what to do bring, as it just seems easier to make sure doubles and triples aren't brought of the same food.

Some people are bringing meatballs, ham, pasta salad, turkey.

I need ideas that are easy and are inexpensive beyond salads etc ( I can assign Them) I'm just having a hard time deciding even and after using Pinterest.

For now I am, I clean residential and commercial and my boss has had to let go a few questionable people so I caught up the remaining hours and the extra helps with paying for the wedding lol! Luckily today it's only a 4-5hr day and I'm not starting until 1230 I definitely needed this little morning break lol

That's the great thing about Wedding Wire - everyone's going through the same stress and whatnot hoping for the same outcome (to get married, lol). It's such a wonderful place to chat with non-judgemental people who genuinely want advice/have advice to give.

Those hours sound brutal! I work 10-12 hour days but only 3 days a week and it ruins me. Are you doing that fulltime?

I find this thread so helpful and eases some stress, I've pulled a blank even though it's probably such an easy thing to do, but I've been working 10-13hr days so my mind at the end of the day is non-functional haha

The oriental party pack from M&ms is quite popular and fairly priced so that would work!

Lasagnas are good! Can make a few and they're super easy! Bread bowls with dip, fruit and veggie platters with dips! There's a few recipes I've seen online for Potato stacks that you make in large cupcake pans that are awesome! Or like mini cornbreads made in cupcake pans too!

I would look up party food ideas and picnic ideas as they will usually be easier to eat and last longer if they are meant for outdoors! (you wouldn't want a mayo in a pasta salad going sour in the heat)

Deviled eggs are a great idea too!

I agree with Tori, pre-done platter dishes are great. If someone wants to go above and beyond and make it from scratch, great, but I know I'd appreciate a turn-key, done in the oven platter that's a crowd favourite.

Things like Costco platters (meats & cheeses, seafood, fruits, veggies, sandwiches) are all delicious, and also those spinach dip bread bowls! Those are always first to go at bbq's & parties.

Basically anything that can be bought at Costco or M&M would be good to me. Try looking int the frozen aisles to see what would be best! Maybe quiche, wings, spring rolls, etc.

The options are truly endless on Pinterest! I'd say keep things on theme with a spring potluck with things like pizza, fruit platters, veggies and dip, charcuterie boards, casseroles, etc. Are you delegating what each person brings in order to avoid doubles of some dishes?
