Postponing at Ancaster mill

Charlotte, on March 3, 2021 at 21:53 Posted in Ontario 0 6
Hi there,

Has anyone tried to postpone their wedding at the Ancaster mill due to Covid. I’m just feeling nervous about the whole thing and would rather postpone until 2022. I currently have a date for September 2021. Do they let you postpone without financial penalty?

We are getting married at the cambridge mill. Which is also run by pearle event. They were nothing but helpful qnd accomodating to us. We were supposed to get Married on 02/27 this year. Our planner reached out to me by email to recognize that was supposed to be our special day. It was very sweet.

It was our choice .. we didn't want to risk waiting until the fall and then have no dates for the following year. December isn't too busy but we wanted to play it safe. About 35% of our guests are coming from the US as well so that's why we postponed so early on as well.

I have a phone call next week with them to figure everything out. I’m hoping things can work. I’m also hopeful that vaccinations go well so by September it will be somewhat normal.

    Thanks for the reply 😊

We just booked our wedding at Ancaster Mill for Sept 2022 and I specifically asked about postponing due to COVID in case that happened. We were assured there would be no penalties for rescheduling if that were the case, but I've also seen from photographers that they've still been hosting small/masked weddings. I think it's ultimately up to you and government restrictions. If you're worried though you should shoot them an email - they've been so responsive and great to work with so far.

    I wish you luck!

Thanks so much for the comment, was it your choice to postpone or the mills?

    Hello!

Yes, I was in this exact same situation last year. Our wedding was scheduled for December 5, 2020 at Ancaster Mill and we ended up postponing to December 4, 2021. We did this in July of last year. We had no penalties whatsoever and they were very nice throughout the entire process. I remember hearing so many different stories from the Pearle venues on people postponing but Ancaster Mill was great.

I am still a little nervous about this year as well.

Good luck and hopefully you don't run into too many problems.
