Post Poned Wedding

Lisa, on April 17, 2020 at 09:53 Posted in WeddingWire 0 5

Hi All, I just wanted to say to all the couples out there that have had to postpone their wedding that we are all in the same place. My hubby to be and I have been together for almost 15 years. We had planned a wedding way back and then found out that we where expecting our beautiful daughter, we decided to hold off because we needed to make sure that she had what she needed. Well after all these years we finally set a date and where to be married Sept 12,2020, this was a very special date for us as this marked 15 years to the day that we met. With the world turned upside down we have once again decided to post pone our wedding. We have talked a lot about what date we would want to make it. I didn't realize how hard this would be!!!!!!!!!

We have a lot of guest that would be flying in from the USA, BC, and even in Canada. I really want to say that I understand how hard this time is right now, please stay strong, love each other and we all will come through this one the other side and have one awesome party.

It’s such a hard decision and this is the hardest time for anyone, let alone brides! We all plan our special days for so long and to be interrupted because of something beyond anyone’s control is heartbreaking.

We’re July 18 and we’re still holding out hope! We think by then weddings will be allowed (with restrictions) and our guests have made it clear if it’s on their coming.
I think by September you’ll be able to have your wedding with your out of town/international guests! Everyone is discussing opening up with stringent restrictions of course, but it’s definitely moving on the up and up I think.
Hang in there! The important thing is we will marry the one who we love!

Same kind of boat.. we've been together 11 years and just life circumstances have postponed us. We got engaged in July 2019, and original wedding date was scheduled for July 18, 2020. We postponed until August 14, 2021...

At this point we are ok with putting it off.. the dates we chose have no deeper meaning.. we just want our entire family together to party. Hoping that the party, open bar, amazing food, and dancing will help everyone out of the funk.... next year lol

Way to keep your heads up! We were an October 24 2020 wedding and have postponed it till April 3 2021. Fall to spring. Could you just do Sept 15 2021 maybe. People can get married any day of the week!

Congrats to your pregnancy! Its great news to hear you two are starting a family.

Its a great message you sent out to the WW couples being in your shoes and I would imagine someone in the extended family is planning and feeling the same.

Postponing the wedding was the best choice to give your daughter to come all she does need first and then reschedule the wedding date. I hope you and your family are well and staying strongly safe.

It definitely not an easy time. I've been so pleasantly surprised by how many people are postponing and seem to have a positive outlook, whether it's because they want to keep family safe or now they have time to save up for the band they've always dreamed of.

This whole group has always been so supportive and positive I'm glad everyone is keeping up the good vibes whenever possible!
