Poll: Table numbers or table names?

Table names are a great way to add some fun and personality to your wedding day, however, table numbers can be a lot more straightforward. Especially if you have a large wedding with lots of tables!

Will you do traditional table numbers or get personal with table names? If you’re opting to have table names, what are you doing?

Table names all the way! Then everyone feels special, no one is sitting all the way at table 24 while they see other friends are table 8, for instance. Numbering tables can translate to some folks as ranking. I don't want that. So, like I said. Names all the way!

I think names would be neat if you had a specific theme. But numbers are definitely easier and quicker to take care of!

Table numbers are a little easier and more affordable than using individualized name place cards!

Names are good if it goes with the theme, I personally love the simplicity of the 1rst one.

Thank you! I can’t take credit for it as I heard it or read it a while ago, and thought that is the perfect way to describe the wedding I plan to have!

Names! We’re both active mountain bikers so we’re naming the tables after trails we’ve ridden together. There are some really fun ones!

We just went with numbers. It was easier and we didn’t have a huge theme to name tables

We're doing names of constellations. As someone already mentioned, it avoids the "ranking" of tables. I'm hoping to design the escort cards to have the name and picture of constellation of the table assigned on it to match the table signs to make it easier for everyone to find their seats.

That's a good point about "rank"! I didn't even consider that, but now I'm thinking doing names is even better now lol I have certain family that would definitely make it a drama thing if they didn't feel they were "appropriately" placed

I like numbers, I'm not a fan of having table names. I think it can be confusing.

We only have four tables, and to save someone (ie my family) from getting upset about rank, we’re naming each table after a place we’ve been together

We are having what I like to refer to as a “geek chic” wedding and our table names will reflect our theme of Doctor Who and Star Wars.

FH wanted names but I wanted my snowglobe table numbers. Putting a name in them would have been way too difficult

We're only going to have 8 tables plus a sweetheart table, so I think we'll do names. Just haven't figured out the theme of what those names will be. I'm a huge travel buff so I'd love to name them after my favourite countries, but that doesn't reflect FH well. So I've been thinking the names of our favourite shows/characters since we have similar tastes there

We went with numbers. It's easier then thinking up 12-13 names we can both agree on and we found cute table numbers on Etsy.

We went with numbers Smiley smile

Putting names would have been too difficult as we didn't have a theme and don't have many places we've been - plus we had over 20 tables so that would have been a lot of names to think of.
