I want to do plated and my fiancé whats buffet. I think buffet will bring down the formality of the event. What to do?

Buffet 100% for us!!! I honestly have never been overly impressed with a plated dinner but with a buffet everyone can have what ever they want and however much! We did our menu tasting and one of the pastas is SOOOOOO GOOOOOD I might only eat a massive bowl of that hahah!! We have at least a dozen different options of food and the variety is very important to us!

Consider food stations instead of a buffet.
    It’s a way to elevate a buffet.

Last mother’s day, I went to an EXPENSIVE brunch at Casa Loma. It was definitely “formal” and a good comprise between plated and buffet.

I prefer plated as a guest- however my wallet prefers buffet as a bride. It's really tough to say though. Yes plated is more formal, but buffets are becoming so common now that no one would think your wedding was "less than" for having one. Buffet is nice for pickier eaters as well, who only have to take what they will want to eat.
