Plated Dinner vs. Buffet

María, on December 28, 2016 at 12:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8

Hey ladies Smiley kiss

The two most common serving styles are: Plated dinner or buffet.

Plated dinner is the most formal of all serving styles and is best if you are having a traditional wedding.

Buffet work best for a large guest list, it is both easy and causal, provides a variety to your menu.

We went with Buffet. We wanted to make sure we had variety. And that people would not leave hungry

I will have to agree if it's a larger group for sure plated. Mine was originally going to be the buffet, but the number of guests got too big after we made changes. Smiley smile

With our budget and catering quote... Under 80 RSVP buffet... Over 80 RSVP plated.

We went with the plated option. We want it so our guests have an evening they wouldn't experience everyday. A classy evening out with a huge helping of "I can't remember the last time I had so much fun!" Smiley smile

We are doing plated. However I would say buffet isn't better for a bigger crowd as you might have elders up there who are slower and you have to go table by table and with a bigger wedding that could take a while. Also I was at a wedding and I was the last table, we were not only seated by the buffet and had to go last but we barely had any food left to eat.... so for a buffet for a large crowd you almost need to have extra food especially if someone wants seconds! I think it takes too long and by the time the first table is done eating the last table is just getting food so I think it would be better at a smaller wedding

We went with plated. We wanted to provide a nice dinner for our guests, like we all went out to dinner together!
