Planning Stress

Narissa, on February 7, 2022 at 21:40 Posted in Before the wedding 0 10

I am just under 9 months away from my wedding date and I have felt no stress throughout the planning process. I have the majority of my vendors booked, with the exception of a couple big ones like my hair and makeup, the officiant, and the groom's and wedding party attire. My question is - When did the stress of panning your wedding set in for you? Was it in the beginning? Near the end? Was it when you were booking your big vendors or when you were ironing out the fine little details? I'm just wondering when the real stress will set in?

Happy Planning!

For me the planning part hasn’t been that stressful! I’ve been ahead of the game for my September wedding.
Bridesmaids have their fittings this weekend, my dress just got delivered so I am also picking up that this weekend too.
The stressful part has been the money, and the new conversations with my soon to be husband and our families. We both are tired of living with our parents and navigating that. Our parents have very specific views on what the wedding should/shouldn’t look like, its lead to some very trying times.

Everyone reacts to different situations differently. I wouldn't say I was stressed since events is not new to me, but handling some of our families' moments got trying at times. And it was frustrating to see some vendors try to dance around the vaccine issue.

For some people, anything short of "perfection" is stressful while others are more able to roll with the punches. Being aware of and accept your limitations while keeping an open mind will make the planning process much more enjoyable.

For these reasons, I feel like the big stresses are going to start setting in closer to my date when there's a chance lockdowns may ruin things. It's one of the things out of our control! Thanks for your insight!

The DIYs for me seem to be stressor points too! Trying to decide when is best to start projects so I'm not sitting in completed projects all over my house too!

I'm only 6 months out so hard to say if it will change but definitely feel the stress lift with each task accomplished!

Mine is July of this year, and it's starting to get a bit stressful with nailing down some of the last minute vendors as dates are filling up very quickly from all those who had to postpone over the last couple of years. But honestly the biggest parts are deciding which aspects to DIY (that I'll actually follow through with and not spend more money on learning curves versus just buying/hiring) whilst still keeping everything as environmentally friendly as possible.

It set in within the two weeks before as I was terrified of ending up in isolation (which was two weeks at the time). That was honestly it. I ended up off work as I'm a teacher and it was way too stressful. To put in better context - our original date was Dec 31, 2020, and the day before winter break I found out a student tested positive. I was in isolation until Dec 30 😩😩. We ended up having to postpone whenever they announced that lockdown (Dec 21?) but leading up to our new date in March I was freaking out as rules on isolation were even stricter. I found what helped not have all the other stress was just slowly getting everything done! Some stuff unfortunately you can't do until closer but once you accept that and plan it out, it eases it. It's hard to know you can't get everything done earlier though, I get that!

Our wedding is 104 days away and now I feel like the stress is starting to kick in for all the little things that need to be done. We had a bit of a longer engagement so I had plenty of time to secure all the vendors

My wedding is in September 2022 and I’ve been on top of everything until recently the last couple months with Christmas and traveling I haven’t done as much wedding stuff and now I’m feeling a bit of stress the more I take care of things and stay on top of everything the less stress I feel!
