Planning Milestone - Sending Invites

Casey, on July 9, 2019 at 09:02 Posted in Before the wedding 0 14

Every big Milestone in wedding planning is exciting, but for me, getting those invites out was the most exciting as it meant the big day is coming closer!

My Invites went out last week, and I have already heard from some people that they have gotten them and put their RSVP in the mail (YAY)

For those of you who are getting ready to send out invites, are you doing them all at once? a list and b list? How long are you giving your guests to RSVP.

For those who have not sent out your invites, are they printed? do you have an idea of what you want on them/ the look?

Would love to hear where everyone is at with this milestone! It is the most important one for couples and guests!!

    That's amazing!

Mine just went out last week, and I have had quite a few people send me pictures of them getting it! Now I am just impatiently waiting for the RSVP's to come back!

My invitations are sent and RSVPs are back! It was so real once they went out (and super fun to receive RSVPs back in the mail!).

Right? Lmao 😂 we didn’t stay long and didn’t give as much as a gift as we would’ve. Just enough to cover our plates.

Yeah, I'll be sending mine soon!!

I originally wanted to do August 15 but I didn't want people to feel rushed, especially if I was late getting them in the mail. They should be out on schedule so we'll see how many people I'm chasing in September!

I did September 1st for ours too just to give the guests some time, and then me time to chase people! It is such a weight lifted putting those things in the mailbox!

I'm hoping to finish putting mine together tonight and potentially send them out this week!! I'm halfway through writing things out/putting them together right now!.

We're sending ours out all at once, I do have a back-up list for in case we dip below our venue's minimum of 90 adults in order to waive the room fee. I'm hoping we don't have to resort to this, but we're more likely to give single guests a plus one before going this route.

We are giving guests until September 1, but I hope most people already know if they are going or not (we know people who booked the hotel when save the dates were sent out lol).

We have our invitations, but still need to address them and send them out. We'll send them out all at once so people recieve the invitations around the same time. I don't think we're doing a B-list because I'm paranoid about offending anyone and our numbers should be fine without it

We sent all ours at the same time as weIl, except for the ones I don't have addresses for yet. But no B-list, we don't have enough guests, I don't think I would be able to tell guests they are B list!

I haven’t sent mine out yet but they will all go out at once. We aren’t doing a B list.

We’ve been B list guests at other weddings and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth!

Oh I agree. I do not understand how people cannot send a simple message letting someone know if they are coming or not! It is super annoying !!

We are trying to stay away from the terms a-list and b-list but we are having 2 rounds/waves of invites go out. We sent the first round of invitations out at Ukrainian Easter time (just before May) and requested RSVP's in by last Friday (July 5th) which was our 3 month till the wedding mark. Not all RSVP's are in but we will just mark those who we can't get in contact with as a 'no' for now.

The way I see it is that if they do get back to us and they say no - then we were right for assuming this! If they say they do want to come, well they were given 2 months to RSVP and they failed to do so - but we will let them know if there is room after we get our new RSVP's back Smiley laugh (That's what they get for not doing something as simple as texting/calling/emailing.....)
