Amanda, on September 23, 2020 at 13:38 Posted in Honeymoon 0 3
Hey everyone! My Hubby and I got married on September 12th and are planning our honeymoon! We want to hit Amsterdam for 2 days and then travel around Greece for 10 days. Any must do or see in Athens, santorini and Crete. As well as Amsterdam! We plan on going as long as we don't have to self isolate abroad!

Congratulations!! My FH and I actually got engaged in Santorini in May 2019! It is an absolutely beautiful island. There are a few things we did that I would definitely recommend.

-Caldera Cruise to the hot springs. It was a little cold in April but definitely worth it, and even though it is cold, PLEASE jump into the ocean when you get to the hot springs. You will regret it if you don't.

-Stop at Perissa Beach, it is a black sand beach and should be way less crowded than usual in May. The sand is so dark it holds the heat from the sun and it is so warm and beautiful

-A winery! I recommend Venetsanos because you cannot beat the view.

-Thira nightlife, of course. Namely, Two Brothers bar.

    As for Athens:

-All the touristy stuff for sure, The Acropolis and Agora, Parthenon, Odeon, etc.

-Monastiraki - Okay we stumbled upon this because it was close to our Air BNB. There is a little restaurant in Monastiraki called Gyristroula in English. The waiter claimed they had the best Gyro in Greece, and of course we didn't believe him. But we sat anyway. We did not taste another gyro in all of Greece as good as the one we had there, honestly. The area surrounding the restaurant is adorable as well, a small flea market, tons of patio restaurants and cafe's, candy stores, and gelato. Wouldn't miss it!

I hope you have an amazing trip!!!

Congratulations! I have never been to Greece, although it is on my bucket list. All the same places too! The 2 day stop in Amsterdam will be great. I really loved it there. I think my favourite area of Amsterdam was the art district. I enjoyed walking around there and bought a couple paintings, the Red light district was disappointing lol, I expected to see more but all the windows ect were empty. You must do a boat cruise through the canal, it so beautiful. If you smoke, dampkring coffee shop was my favourite chill spot. It’s been in a few movies and had great selection. Super chill, not fancy lol. There are so many museums too, the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, the prostitution museum, torture museum ect. I just loved walking around there, you can walk for hours! Watch out for the bikes, they will not stop or try to avoid you lol

    Enjoy your honeymoon!

I went to Greece years ago for my grad trip. It's so beautiful! I really loved Delphi. It's this gorgeous town in the mountains that is famous for the Oracle there and has a lot of olympic history in the area too.
