Planning a second reception

This is a nice idea if it doesn't get too costly. A party at someone's house or in a church basement could be the most cost effective and it could still be lovely.

My FMIL has already asked/told us that she will be having a party at home for her friends who've known my FH for most of his life. I won't know most of these people other than having maybe met them once before. She is inviting a few people from my family but I am still apprehensive about it.

Sounds like a great plan! Those who couldn't make it to the first one will be appreciative of having one "dedicated" to them What are your thoughts on it? Is this something you would like to do?

My best friend and maid of honor moved to Switzerland a few years and had her dream wedding at the castle. People, including myself, that couldn't go overseas but will have a chance this summer. She is doing a small reception BBQ style at her parents place. I think it's a great idea. I didn't have 2 grand to fly over and stay there a week for vacation. In was very upset I couldn't go. It depends on what you want. But people will appreciate it.
