You can also use an empty toilet roll to displace the pearls, therefore using fewer pearls.

Here's a thought,... fill the bottom,... place a styrofoam ball in the middle and fill around the sides between the ball and the glass. Displacing the beads this way will result in needing fewer beads, and look just as pretty!!

I would never have thought of something like that, so nice!! I wonder if the dollar store would carry big quantities of pearls? Otherwise, I would agree with the suggestions made so far... also Katherine's suggestion of putting something else in there is GENIUS!

You'd have to hit up beading stores specifically as they usually carry a larger quantity of products such as these. If you have a michaels or another crafting store you could ask them to order in more for you. Or, as an alternative, they look like those hard little jaw breaker candies that you can get from a party store? Just a suggestion. They're likely cheaper too.
