Outdoor wedding in Winter

Morgane, on July 2, 2018 at 14:51 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 14
My wedding is going to be outdoors in the Rockies in February 2019. My dress is a little puffy so I will be able to wear leggings and snow boots under. Still deciding what to do for a jacket/wrap. I have decided not to do a faux fur wrap. Anyone have any advice from having personally gotten married in the snow in -20 weather?

Maybe use the blush from your flowers. That'll add some colour if you're worried about being too pale and would add a romantic soft touch and pink and navy go together soo well!

Hmm I think i would remember if I had met someone named Morgane. I think you should go vibe somewhere else...and I will take my hugely dramatic cape and sweep it as I leave.

We have no theme really- the groom's suit is going to be navy though and my flowers a blush pink with some greenery

Have we met before? You look so familiar!

I'm not really digging that vibe. I feel like having a puffy dress and then a cape on top of that might be a little too much?

I have seen a few on Etsy that I might consider- but I would still probably stick to off-white. The other colour I would consider would be navy, because that is what my Fiance's suit will be, but then I might look super pale?

When we were contemplating a winter wedding, I was dreaming of full cape like Belle wore in Beauty and the Beast with a nice big hood.

Maybe you could have something knitted that would provide some warmth and possible a splash of colour?

I thought i would do the faux fur coat thing, but then I tried one on with my dress and I just did not like the look at all! I moved to Canada from SA 4 years ago, so I can definitely not handle the cold in a thin wrap either 😑

We are in a similar boat, we will not have an outdoor ceremony but we will be having outdoor photos for our March wedding. I really want everyone to look nice but they will also need to be warm.

I am in the same boat. we are getting married at Lake Louise at the beginning of January. The ceremony will be outside as long as its not too cold. And I have no idea what do to cover us!!

We are looking at furry jackets as those are super in atm (its winter her in Australia) but i really don't think they are my style so we are super stuck right now! My aussie bridesmaids won't be warm enough in some of the small wraps I see around Smiley atonished

My Best friend got married this past march and her mum actually made a wrap for her out of a fluffy, fleecy white blanket! It's so stunning and elegant and it was soooo cozy!

I think a flannel work shirt would be really cute and SO Canadian!

It's not the prettiest, but what about a plaid work coat? If you buy a new one it will at least look crisp, but i think it would add nicely depending on your theme!

I once got married in -30 with an outdoor photo shoot. I wore a wrap-like short white fox fur jacket that I was able to rent from a fur retailer in downtown Calgary. I found it by accident by searching store websites and checking their fine print, because it’s not their primary business. A very economical choice, and it really looked beautiful.
