We finally made it to the one year mark! In 365 days, I get to marry my best friend! even though we have most of the big stuff either fully paid for or at the very least organized and cheques sent out post dated, (we are keeping our wedding debt free)I cant help but stress a little! Suddenly we went from having so much time to only having one year left! Because we are paying for everything upfront, I find myself panicking lots at night about how we are going to pay for certain aspects of the wedding. We are accepting some help from our parents for our rentals and our food but the rest is being paid by us

I'm a very organized person so I like to get everything done in a timely fashion, much to my own dismay during the process of planning my wedding. Does anyone have any tips on what helps or helped them deal with the pressure as their day got closer?

I hear ya.. most of our relationship he's been doing the 2 weeks in Fort Mac 1 week home thing, so when we we were together at the beginning of the planning it couldn't just be wedding. Right now he's in Alberta for three straight weeks and we're only 3 months out! So I am totally going crazy (don't leave a bride alone unattended this close to the day!) and when I do get him on the phone for 10 minutes a day I'm alternating wedding days with life days to get it all out!!!

I like this idea! We both work 3 jobs so we actually dont see each other all that often and try to focus on stuff other than wedding, but it's so hard to get to ever talk about it with how little we see each other Haha! Maybe we can just do every 2 weeks for wedding talk Smiley smile

I do hot yoga almost every morning. I run. I drink copious amounts of wine.

We only dedicated one day a week for wedding related stuff - a two or three-hour touch base meeting and then pick things that we were going to plan to do through the week. Outside of that we really just try not to talk too much about the wedding because I don't want our whole engagement just to be about the wedding, and then what once it's over - we don't want to lose touch with each other. That being said , now that we're down to three months, those discussions are a lot more frequent and seem to be taking over a lot of our convos .

I agree with everyone here that you need to sometimes take a step back and not plan. It gives you a break, rests your mind and lets you come back more energized.

Taking a break from the wedding has helped. We planned our stag and doe which was a nice break and when I came back to the wedding planning I was much less stressed about it all. Next month I go on my bachelorette to Dominican so that will be a nice break as well.
Ps. If that's your ring in the picture it is GORGEOUS 😍

I definitely agree with Carmela, making sure to take some time away form the wedding planning definitely helps. As well as making sure your FH and you make time for each other - and don't talk about anything wedding related. A lot of the times when you revisit some of the things that were stressing you out, you realize things are not as bad as your initially thought.

Take time for yourself. As corney as this may sound, try going for a walk either with your fiancé or alone and talk to each other that ISNT wedding related. I find going for a walk clears the mind and allows you to de-stress. Another this could be, try doing those home facials, it could be fun and relieve some stress. Good luck hun
