Normal time to get wedding video back?

Amanda, on February 4, 2020 at 09:12 Posted in Just married 0 5

Hi everyone! We got married Oct 19 2019 and still haven't received our wedding video back. We received the teaser mid-Dec. Our contract says "3-6 weeks, subject to change" and its been over 15 now. Anyone have a similar experience?

It took my FSIL 4 months to get their video even though it only stipulated a few weeks. They got slammed with other weddings and then Christmas holidays.

I would definitely call and ask though for a date when you can expect it!

You should FOR SURE have it back already. We got our wedding video (of just the ceremony granted) back exactly one month later. Wedding on Oct. 5th, emailed on the 4th of November letting me know he had mailed the USB.

Have you reached out to get an estimate date for when you can expect it? Try calling before sending any emails. I would mention the turnaround in the contract, but try not to be too pushy or they might not get to it as quickly. I would not threaten anything until you've received an answer (or been ignored).

They are probably dealing with a backlog of all the fall weddings, and maybe even late summer ones.

I would get hold of the videographer and ask when the dvd is ready and if it will sent to you or picked up by yourselves.
This is bad due to timing of editing given the time frame to do the work. Paying what you did can result to get some money back by taking them to court if the action requires. Its not the path to go though it may end up being the only way of their contract timing.
