Nontraditional Ceremony Songs

Amanda, on April 15, 2020 at 22:38 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 12
Hello fellow brides! I know this is a tough time for us all, it definitely has created a huge hurdle for so many. I was supposed to book our venue last month as our wedding is August 2021, however we weren’t able to go do a venue tour so unable to book. Stressing a little now seeing so many postponing due to COVID for next year.

So I decided to occupy my mind with happier things and use this to outline some details. My hubby and I are having a themed wedding (the Joker and Harley Quinn) and I am in need of songs for the ceremony. I am missing a song for him to walk down the aisle to as well as a song for the guests to find their seats and one for while we do license signing. We are gearing more towards the Gotham city vibe but keeping with the elegance of a wedding. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Here's Danny Elfman's Joker theme from the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton film. It has a weird cheerful but gothic vibe that I think would work for your concession.

This is Joker's theme from the 90s animated series.

If you like the sound from the animated series, look up Shirley Walker. She composed the music for the cartoon. The Joker's antics in that show led to some wacky music that would be conducive to a "let's start the show!" kind of vibe.

There's always Game of Thrones music, like the Lannister theme from the Red Wedding Smiley laugh

I would look for some themed or movie inspired Spotify lists. You might even find a traditional song covered with a twist that fits your theme!

Oh! And Tim Burton movies too! They have some cool, twisted kinda music. I liked one of the songs from one of the Oz movies, used it for a ballet choreography and it was fun 😊

I love it! Such a unique and personalised theme! Check out the soundtracks for those movies, if you want music with lyrics they might have some cool options, but the score music is incredible if you enjoy instrumental.

Otherwise I'd say check out the soundtracks to movies with similar themes or even some of the artists from the soundtracks. I find their best music is rarely what is used in the movies. Best of luck! Can't wait to find out what you decide on!

Searching dark romantic songs in the internet seems something original that can help to put your big day together. The genre is what you choose upon you two liking when listening to the songs.
