Need inspiration!

Kyra, on September 19, 2018 at 09:07 Posted in Honeymoon 0 9
We got married almost 2 weeks ago and don't plan on going on our honeymoon until at least February (or as late as April).

I'm looking for any inspiration as to where to go! We love walking and exploring a city - not really the lie on a beach kind of people. Even though Hawaii sounds so good.... (I love sun).

Thinking somewhere in Europe? Or??? Anyone care to share some ideas??

The possibilities are endless. Pick a place you both have always wanted to go and travel there.

I lived in France for two months for a study abroad and loved it. I lived in a city called Strasbourg, on the border of Germany, so we were in and out of there a lot too. Germany is an absolutely wonderful country. Switzerland is gorgeous, but very expensive. I visited Athens, but I found it a little disappointing (still glad I went, though). My fiance and I are doing a Mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon - get to as many places as possible!

We went to Europe and it was absolutely amazing! We went to Greece for a few days and then went to Italy. We rented a car and explored Italy, it was amazing! I highly recommend it! We stayed in Airbnbs to save some money but then we had kitchens so we could cook some meals.

I second Prague! Great city to walk around and explore food, culture, architecture and history! Friendly people, reasonable prices and the best beer ever! I'm not normally a beer drinker, but it really is very good there. It's also close enough to other places in Europe so you could probably get a cheap quick flight to Budapest or other fantastic locations while you are out there too!

If you're thinking Europe I highly recommend Ansterdam or Awitzerland!! Esoecially Amsterdam if you're a wandering couple that city is AMAZING!!! I find England and France way too expensive and overdone... Germany is also a great location you can go to a main city or stay at a little resort up a mountain and have the best food and beer ever~~

I recommend Prague in Czech Republic!

I went there this past spring and it was beautiful and our exchange rate is great! Of course if you are into beer and schnitzel then it will be even better! Beer costs less than water out there in Prague. You will be spending roughly $2 Canadian on 500ml of beer (unless you go to a highly tourist part of the city but walk a block or two over and you will be fine). The amount of food that most places give you ends up being more than you can eat but since it's so cheap you don't even worry about taking it home as leftovers! Plus they have a magnificent transportation system. They have metro, tram, bus, and trains!

Here is a link with reasons why to visit Prague! Top 10 reasons to visit Prague

I loved walking around Amsterdam and there is so many things to see and good food to taste. My mom and I did a 3 week trip a few years ago. We did an Iceland stop over and explored reyjkevik and did a few tours. There was a seat sale and we flew to London England and spent some time there and then took a ferry over to Holland. It was so much fun and April is the month of the tulip festival. My mom is from Holland so we did rent a car and drove around Holland.
