Name Place Settings

Name place card/settings....what are you using?
I'm torn between doing something simple like a piece of paper or something more personal like maybe a keychain/ornament that our guests can keep.

We are just doing escort cards for tables rather specific seats. We are having a family style buffet so no need for seats to be assigned. Originally I had the cutest little ice cube holders for the cards but we are no longer a winter wedding so I think I'll just use the folded cards

At this point we are assigning tables not specific seats but with over 600 days to go we may change our minds...

We had place cards that matched our invites on the ceremony seats (covid rules), then these escort cards with the meal sticker attached to noise makers (NYE)

And these are each seat that 98% of guests took home. I have a Cricut if it's not obvious 😅.

I love the small details like this at weddings and absolutely hate not having any sort of seating arrangement as a guest. I don't think guests particular seats need to be chosen but at least tables. It guarantees who actually is able to sit together.

Sometimes the couple want people sitting in particular seats that's why you could be using names tags as well. They have assigned seating. We don't our guests can sit wherever they want.

I have a cricut machine so a lot of the stuff I am doing is DIY... (and we only have 50 ish people coming)

I found these Mason jar cups on clearance that have a lid/straw and I thought it would be a neat idea for it to be the cup they use for the night (instead of red solo cups)it's just a clear glass cup with for example "Hailey" written on the side in blue (one of our wedding colours)
I can send a photo when I get home what one looks like! I know 99% of the guest are coming as it's family and close friends so I've done majority of the cups already...

Some people are really peculiar about which seat their guests are at and that's where name cards come in. I personally assign guests to a table and couldn't care where at the table they sit.

We had thought about cups too (our venue is a brewery) so thought a cup might be a nice option for our guests. If you don't mind me asking, do you just plan on putting their name on the cup?

The funny thing is, the few weddings I have been to, buffet styles always had a name place and plated meals didn't lol I know its pretty much up to the couple just thought it was funny so far every comment is saying no because buffet dinner but thats the exact opposite of what I know! (hence me asking opinions lol)

We're doing a buffet style for dinner but part of the favors are a Mason jar that is personalized so it will act as the name card! And it'll act as what table they are sitting a.
Otherwise I would of done a simple name card!

My fiance and I aren't using them since we're doing buffet style dinner but if were going to use them, it would be something simple. They're really only used for the severs/wait staff and for your guests to know where they're sitting

I would do something simple. They're less for your guests and more for the wait staff. The easier it is for them to read and navigate the seats for meal placements, the better.
