Muslim/non-religious Ceremony

Shakira, on March 4, 2023 at 11:54 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 2

Hello everyone!

I have a question...I am Muslim and would like to have a very short and simple Muslim ceremony without requiring my fiance to convert. I am struggling to figure out how I could do this.. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you’re having a secular ceremony, you could have someone say a prayer from the Quran. This can be done before your officiant speaks, and another after the ceremony is completed.
Contact your local mosque or Islamic centre to check what options you might have. It’s more likely for someone there to lead you in the right direction.

Are you also having a secular ceremony with a non-Muslim officiant, or do you want the Muslim ceremony to be the legally binding one?

Do you have any family traditions that you can incorporate that are not part of the legal proceedings? Something along the lines of the Chinese tea ceremony or the Indian mehndi ceremony.
