Moving "photo booth"

Marie-Claire, on July 23, 2018 at 11:54 Posted in Wedding reception 0 12

We'd like to have a way to get pictures of all of our guests without having our photographer to go to each table (she'd prefer not to do it, and we want her to have time to enjoy the meal too, as she's a friend).

We were thinking of having a photo booth, but we couldn't think of someone to be in charge, and anyway most older guests likely wouldn't use it.

So I've thought of having a "photo booth" box that would be moving from table to table during the reception, with some props and a camera (a simple digital camera anyone could use). Do you think that would work?

Also, since it would be moving, should we stick to small props like masks, or should we still include hats even if that means leaving the box on the ground beside the tables? We have a bunch of really fun hats, including a tricorn, a Santa hat and a parrot costume hat.

That being said, you have thought out the plan and space for everything then.

That was part of my concerns, but we're having 80 guests in a hall that fits 150, so I think we can leave enough space between tables to allow for ease of movement.

It sounds fun to go around the hall. The only concern would be the size and space inbetween as guests are moving around too.

This is a great idea. I fully respect to your timeline but it’s something you can order online and have delivered within days.

Decorating it it could be minimal/simple.

It would have been nice, but we really don't have much time to shop before the wedding.

We don't want to hire anyone for that.

We have asked two of my fiancé's cousins to make sure it goes to all tables.

If you want it moving, maybe put the items on a cart...decorate it and put all the items/props. Ikea has a the raskog cart that could be used (even after the wedding)

If you're thinking at all to have a hired photo booth they usually come with a helper if that helps at all! I do like the idea of having props at all tables though!

Just make sure someone is in charge of keeping the moving booth MOVING so they its not forgotten at a table and unused!

Sounds like a good time to me! And that way the older folks who wouldn't normally use the props and take pictures have others that take pictures of them instead.

Also, if I could, I would use the hats!

Sounds like lots of fun! We are also doing something similar, we bought props for each table.
