Moving into a new place before the wedding...

Ashley, on July 28, 2017 at 11:45 Posted in Before the wedding 0 7

There is nearly 10 months before my wedding and I'm freaking out about moving into a new place just before the wedding. I feel like it is going to add to the stress of planning this wedding, but the move needs to happen. We need more space and need more privacy. HELP!!!!!!!!

In general moving is the most stressful thing to do. We are in the same boat and I started planing our wedding almost a year and a half in advance. People teased me for it because they said it was too early! But now that I'm moving I'm happy that the majors are done and I can focus on the move! But if you know you have both things on your plate, make a conscious decision not to get stressed out about it! Maybe only unpack the essentials and then focus on wedding stuff. After the wedding is over you can unpack the rest and organize. There is no rule that says you have to do it all at once! Smiley smile Good luck!

Going through this right now. Moving between today and July 31st and getting married in 13 days! It's pretty stressful I have had a few tears and sweat but all I do is just think about it like this closer to marrying my best friend and once we are moved one huge less thing to worry about Smiley smile

We're in similar situation only we are renovating his house for me to move in. I've slowly been bringing things from my house to his but can't bring any furniture until the hardwood floor has been installed. Then we have to put in a new kitchen before I can bring my kitchen stuff. We realize that there will be plenty to do after the honeymoon but we'll try not to stress. I'd like most of my things moved before the snow flies, though.

I just went through the same thing! We just moved and are getting married in almost 2 months. The move did not go smoothly as planned so it was a little stressful. I recommend getting as much done as possible before the move. It definitely helped me. I had like 80% done all the wedding stuff before moving so it wasn't as stressful as it could have been. Also, in our minds we pictured having our whole house set up perfectly when we moved but reality set in and we had to compromise. Instead of buying that nice mirror or dresser we wanted, we put that money towards decor for the wedding or flowers, etc. We have accepted that our house won't be complete until after we are married. Try not to be too hard on yourselves if you can't get everything needed for the house. As long as you have a bed and a roof and food you can worry about the rest once your married!

When are you moving & when is the wedding? Just because you're moving it doesn't mean your new place has to be perfect right away Smiley smile
