What is one of your most memorable dates during your relationship?
I'll go first!
For my 30th birthday (a couple of years ago) my S.O planned for the two of us and his best friend and wife to go see Black Panther the night before my birthday which was the opening weekend. I was excited because I was looking forward to this since it was announced, but a little disappointed none of my friends were available.
After the movie he suggested we go home to have ice cream, which I found odd that we wouldn't go to the DQ his family owns, but know his friends aren't fans of crowds so agreed. With it being before 8 pm I was feeling like it was a still an early enough night, that I messaged my theatre group that most of my friends are part of and said "I know it's the long weekend but if anyone is still around I'm thinking of heading to [bar] for Karaoke at 9".
Once we got home I was heading to the deep freeze in the room by our front door when S.O said to go to the kitchen to get the bowls out. The whole night he was acting so weird I'm like whatever. So I turn the corner down the hallway to hit the light and hear SURPRISE, 20 of my friends are sitting cross-legged in my small living room!
Him and his sister were planning my 30th birthday for like 3 months and the movie was the decoy so his sister and my best friend could decorate and get all the food that he spent all week cooking at her place over.
We all drove over to karaoke after and a number of my friends were talking about how they thought I discovered what was happening once I posted about karaoke.
I was totally surprised, I just thought that my birthday was going to be the movie and nothing else!
I still comment that I can't believe he pulled it off!
