Money/gift Box

Sergio, on August 28, 2019 at 10:17 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8
Having my wedding in a very busy downtown location. Any tips on what to do with a gift box and where I can find one with a lock. (Physical Store).

What have you guys done or can tell from experience. I’ve heard a few horror stories regarding theft.

Best piece of advice, don't keep it near the front entrance, and have someone in the wedding party "guard" the box. I am having 2 people from my wedding party to be in charge of hanging out around that area just to make sure no one walks off with it.

If you do not have a bridal suite that you can lock it up in, then finding a box with a lock, or one that is difficult to open.

I don’t know how helpful this is but my FH is going to build ours. His mom is going to do the calligraphy for it.

If you have the time and are handy, you could always build one that suits your needs! You can purchase wood, acrylic, locks at the hardware store.

We were lucky enough to have a bridal suite with a safe to keep it locked in. Funny story, we didn't even use the safe but ended up emptying our card box periodically throughout the night into empty picture frame boxes. It worked out well lol.

I would recommend having someone emptying the card box half way through the night and keeping behind bar or somewhere safe as well. Also, don't keep card box/gift table near the entrance as well.

Tori had some good idea's of where to get them as well. You could also do etsy and have some customize one with a lock area on it

We're going to be using the "socker" greenhouse from Ikea, they have little handles at the top that you could definitely put a small lock on to keep it shut. The bottom is usually detachable I think but we're probably just going to glue ours shut.

I'm sure you would be able to rent one from Party Stuff if you have one near you? Or perhaps you could buy a box and a lock at Michaels? Or maybe you could see if there are any on Kijiji/FB Market place near you?

I will most likely have my FH make one for our wedding as he is a Carpenter Smiley tongue
