MOH and Best Man

Niki and Chris, on October 14, 2019 at 15:09 Posted in Before the wedding 0 9
Deffs did not abbreviate best man 😂

Hey everyone!!!
Thoughts about not having a maid of honour and no best man? What do you think about it? Pros and cons. My fiancé cannot put his finger on who his best man is, and I have a friend in another province who is a bridesmaid but if she was local she would have 100% been my maid of honour. I do have a local option for maid of honour, but I feel like my out of town friend is truly who I want to sign the certificate.
I think if we have no best man, no maid of honour, there will be no feelings hurt. Thoughts ?

It's fine if you don't want to have anyone standing up there with you two for your wedding. There's no rules that say you need an army of people up there when you wed. Definitely do what you want to.

I'm having a MOH and FH is having a best man but they don't really have any special duties other than signing the marriage certificate. I'm not doing any type of stag and doe or bridal shower. Maybe a small group of friends for a bachelor/bachelorette party that I could plan myself. I'm just asking them to have clothes to match my colour theme.

I don't think that MOH and Best Man are needed title wise - but then again if you have somebody who fits that then why not ask? Who cares if she is out of province?

Idk, I had my sister as my MOH so that was easy but my Husband was having trouble picking between two friends so he just had 2 Best Men!

My fiancé will not have groomsmen and I have no bridesmaid but my sister is mais of honour.

His mother will be signing. And most likely my sister or best friend.

You definitely don't need an MOH and Best man - They are just titles (IMO).

This leaves you with the freedom of choosing who you'd want to be your witness without putting extra pressure or responsibilities on your friend.

We are having a small bridal party (3 each), and I won't be having a Maid of Honour. With so few of us, and my best friend also in another province, it just feels easier to me to have 3 bridesmaids instead of a MOH and 2 bridesmaids. That said, my fiance also has not made any declarations as to who he he may want, and whether or not he is interested in having a "best man". If he wants one, I'm OK with him picking one and me not having one...though I'm sure our signs will still only say groomsman Smiley xd

I don’t think there’s any problem. You’ll need witnesses for the ceremony but you can literally have anyone thats over 16 I think.

Do what feels right for you guys!
