Miss to Mrs Box for an Elopement?

Taylor-Marie, on January 14, 2021 at 18:40 Posted in Before the wedding 1 8

I’m thinking of subscribing to the Miss to Mrs box for my upcoming September elopement, but I’m wondering if it’s a waste since we’re not having a traditional wedding. We’re still having a ceremony with a photographer, flowers, MUA, etc. but we’re just not inviting anyone to be there. I’d also like to do a bachelorette pending COVID. I’m sure there will be some things that I won’t have use for and that’s ok but I’m hopeful that there’s lots that I will be able to make use of!

Did you like the box? Was there lots of useful stuff? Also, for those of you in Canada what did the approx. cost work out to once you factor in exchange rate and shipping?

Thanks!

I love the items received in my first Miss to Mrs box, I think it's definitely worth the money.

Packaged with care and full of such fantastic goodies!

I enjoy having a box that excites me knowing I’m about to get married and it has so many unique things in it. It’s like a reminder that one of the best days of your life is coming and then the box of items you receive prepares you for that amazing day!

It's super cool to open the box together with my bridesmaids!

I literally just subscribed to this box over the weekend, so also interested in seeing what other people post on this thread! But I think especially given the strange times we're living through, it could be a fun way to hype yourself up for the wedding when we may not be able to host showers, bachelorettes, etc.

That was my rationale: I'm not throwing any parties or get-togethers, and honestly no one else is going to throw those things for me (even virtually), or get us any pre-wedding gifts, so it'll be nice to get some bridal stuff to get excited for the Big Day Smiley smile But yeah, if you're not expecting to like or use half the stuff in the boxes (you can see what other people are getting by searching the #misstomrsbox hashtag on Instagram), and you don't have a ton of disposable income to spend on it, it may be a better idea to buy some wedding items like mugs or anything like that separately.

MissToMrs Boxes subscription is the best purchase I've ever made!

I subscribed for 9 months, already received 3 boxes. Love the feeling of how it gets me exciting before the wedding!

Everything is adorable! Each MissToMrs box has a specific theme, the first box had a lot of planning & useful items like a countdown calendar, planner, diamond pens, the second MissToMrs box made me happy with a lot of clothing, and the third one has great essentials that each bride must-have, but probably can forget to buy by herself: heel protectors, vow books, dancing flats, sleeping mask.

I love, how each box is collected!

I looked into them and decided to just but the items I wanted instead of potentially wasting money in hopes of getting a few things I would use.

I bought myself a cute fiance mug on Etsy before I had even told people we were engaged!

Hi Taylor-Marie! I've heard that you get a lot of planning tools, so even if you aren't having a huge ceremony, you can still enjoy the countdown calendars, relaxing things (candles), etc. You're still a Bride regardless if you are keeping it intimate or planning a huge thing. If you have it in your budget and want to explore it, go for it! You can always order 1 or 2 boxes to start and if you like it, buy more. I had a friend elope and she still had a bachelorette party so you can use stuff towards that if you get it or hold onto it for someone down the road!

Honestly I got like the 6 month one it was like $350 Canadian if I remember correct. I would just buy the items that you want that you think would have been in the boxes and it would likely cost less.

I had two friends who were gifted these boxes. How worth it depends on which type of box you get (they're packaged with different concepts, like wedding day prep vs bachelorette party) but overall, it's very much a novelty item. Half the stuff will be physical items of things you can find online (like calendars, or a budget sheet). The one who got the planning-oriented box was like meh but the other who got more "swag" type things had fun with it and used it toward her bachelorette party. If you like to be showered in wedding-themed memorabilia it could be fun but I wouldn't say it's particularly useful for the actual planning of a wedding, traditional or not.

    No idea on costs.
