Might be a long shot but anyone out there looking for a weight loss buddy for their big day?

Kim, on October 2, 2020 at 17:24 Posted in Before the wedding 0 3

Hi everyone, I am a fairly bigger gal and having my vow renewal in April 2022. Although I am happy with who I am, I really want to knock my husband's socks off and be able to greet our guests standing instead of in my wheelchair. Is there anyone else out there in the same boat who wants to become weightloss buddies? Or share their fitness routines. I'm so out of shape I can barely walk right now, so I've started with that (I am also disabled due to severe fibromyalgia and other health issues) but I refuse to give up, I want to shock everyone this time!

4000 steps!!!! That is amazing! You are not your diagnosis at all. Yes love yourself but always try to be a better you. Mentally, spiritually and physically. My friend joined that noom. It seems to be quite amazing and for what you get not too expensive. You get a coach that helps you set realistic goals, you end up with a group support as well. I'm a cheap skate (thrifty haha) and what I'm using is working for me but it might be worth thinking about too. I seriously message anytime. I love hearing about other peoples success and I can remind you to be kind to yourself if you aren't as happy with results.

Thanks for adding me as a friend Rayanne!

It is nice having someone to talk to. All my friends keep saying, love yourself the way you are, it's your new "normal', but when I am uncomfortable and tired of being "dependent" rather than "independent" and want to lose they should be supportive. I want to kick that wheelchair to the curb and walk again. I am not my diagnosis and don't want to hide behind my diagnosis anymore. I too use My Fitness Pal but am also watching calories and walking. Lost 2.5 lbs this week, and increased my steps from 1000 a day to 4000 a day, which is a good start. Winded the heck out of me but I did it! I look forward to hearing about your victories whether big or small! Smiley smile

I am not really overweight but I havent been happy with the last few pounds I've been carrying around after my fourth child. I totally believe in small goals will eventually give you great results. I'm using myfitnesspal for my diet plan. Its free and easy. If you know anything about macros and how they work. It gives you a percentage to keep your carbs, proteins and fats in per day. They also have a premium package you can purchase but i have no idea what that entails. I love that I can look at my macros and I can switch to my nutrients. I like to make such im having enough vitamins and such. For excercise I've started with walking. I can not wrap my head around a full on workout. I find a flight of stairs can wind me lol. I've just made a time in my schedule for my walks rain or shine (not looking forward to snow). I drop kids off at school and keep walking. Find a time when it is convenient for you and I dont let myself have any excuses. I started alone and after two months I have 3 walking buddies. I usually walk with one person a day. I go 5 days a week. I've lost about 12lbs since the beginning of August. Good luck you can pm me if you want to talk. You got this. One step at a time.
