Men's Wedding Ring

Becky, on March 16, 2018 at 16:23 Posted in Before the wedding 0 17

When did you get the wedding ring for him? I know we get the engagement ring but do they get theirs at the wedding or bit before even? Also, did you bring your man with you to pick it out or pick it out yourself. Mine is in construction and don't know what to get him or type he likes or even his size!

I am taking my fiancé a few months before the wedding to get his so that he doesn't have to get it resized after ordering it and because he is being picky about the ring so I have to take him or listen to the complaints lol

We’ll be buying my fiancé’s off of an Etsy site.. he let me pick mine out so it’s only fair, plus he’s incredibly picky ( like me Smiley winking ) we’ll be giving him his at the ceremony, same with my wedding band.

When he was shopping for my ring which was a set he saw one he liked for hisself. After he proposed on Christmas Eve he was telling me about it and I said well let’s go look at it on Boxing Day. It happened to be a ring on clearance and he really liked it and I thought it was nice (it’s black with camo in it as he loves camo). I didn’t want to miss out on this ring he liked so much so I bought it right away on Boxing Day and now it sits with my wedding band in a drawer waiting for our wedding day in 2020.

He is also in construction and won’t wear the ring to work to be sure it doesn’t get caught on anything but will be worn weekends and when ever we go out.

We went to Michael Hill where he bought my set to look around and try on some rings. It happened the first one he tried one was the one he liked the most and looked the best (he tried a few after to compare). We had gone in with the intention of just looking but I wound up buying it.

I have talked to him little more and we are going to go together, this way he can get sized and he can pick it out. He’s type that if he doesn’t like it he won’t wear jt

Ww bought his ring from People's because they gave my fiancé a coupon for $200 after he purchased my set. He picked it out himself.

Same here, we picked our wedding rings together in December for our July wedding. The idea was that everyone should like what they will be wearing, so he picked his totally on his own Smiley smile

I should specify, he won't be wearing his ring until the day of the wedding though.

We got his in November and picked it up early January (engaged since May) and our wedding will be in July. He picked his out, I just payed for it. My theory is he is going to be the one wearing it so he can pick it out (lol if my guy didn't like it, he probably wouldn't wear it). Plus he's a farmer so he will only wear it going out, so I wanted to make sure he liked it enough to wear it lol. (It depends on your relationship though! This works for him and I, not necessarily everyone else)

My husband wanted something very specific and particular so we looked at stuff online together and got him sized at a local jeweler. I picked out the specifics and he only saw it the day of the wedding.

There's no right or wrong answer to this.

Traditionally, the groom does not wear a ring until the vows are exchanged and you're officially married. Either way, he is going to need to go with you to a jewellery store and they will help size him. It's quick, easy and they don't expect you to buy something. Any store can help with this.

As for who picks it out. My FH and I picked his ring out together as he wanted a second opinion, but at the end of the day its the ring he's going to wear every day forever so I wanted to make sure he loved it. He doesn't really wear jewellery typically so I wouldn't have been able to pick something he liked.

If he can't wear it while at work, you could look into getting a silicone ring. Example:

They're fairly inexpensive. My partner and I are both getting a silicone ring on top of our day to day jewellery, so we can wear it while camping or travelling.

We picked ours out together and actually bought them online from an Etsy store. I paid for his.. He paid for mine (his cost $50 more than mine!).

My FH works as an electrician so he cant wear his ring at work. We ended up getting him a necklace that he wears it on instead of his hand. Ive also heard really good things about silicon rings so maybe look into that?

We also did thigs a little non-traditionally... We picked out our wedding bands together and used them as engagement rings , just wearing them on our right hands until the wedding when we will swap them to the left hands. So im not much help in the 'when to buy' category!

My fiance and I will pick out our wedding bands together. I will pay for his, he will pay for mine technically but we have a joint account so really we are both paying for both lol you will give him his wedding at the ring exchange during your ceremony.
