Meeting with the pastor

If anyone can relate to this, please tell me what this means. I’m getting married in June and I reached out to the pastor who will be marrying us. I’m Catholic but my fiancée isn’t. We are getting married in a Catholic Church. I reached out to the pastor to ask about doing our second interview. He first asked if we got a civil marriage which I’m assuming means if we got married at city hall (I’m from Toronto) to which I replied no. Then he said he needs to reach out to the Archdiocese of Toronto before we proceed with the second interview. What does this all mean? It makes me nervous. Does this potentially mean we won’t be able to get married at this church? Im so confused with all this. Any info helps!
