Hi Everyone! How's the planning going for May? Are you downsizing guest lists to 50? Are you picking alternate forms of entertainment? Are you holding your reception indoors or outdoors?

Hello! we are getting married August 2021. Our original guest list was pretty big ~150-175. And we are having it on our 1 acre lot outdoors. Im not sure what to expect? I think its safe to say at least 50 outdoors right? Any thoughts?

I was similar to Colleen with the three options for our ceremony and postponing reception. I'm just concerned now that the limit is 10 everywhere for lockdowns. Our immediate family and pandit is 20 people. So hopefully things will improve to enable at least option one.

We’re getting married in May no matter what, but we might have to postpone our reception till 2022. We have three plans right now: lockdown (where it’s just our pastor, immediate family, and us in my backyard), semi-restricted (where we can still do the wedding but have to cut our guest list down to 70 and have extra precautions in place), or safe to go ahead as normal.

I’m honestly prepared for the first option... I’m really thinking Ottawa won’t be opened up enough for at least 70 people by May 1st, and I don’t want to sacrifice any more guests than that.

I'm getting married in May, and we're planning for about 40 people. I'm thinking if at least my grandparents are vaccinated, then that takes care of the most vulnerable.

We're September and we're still proceeding as if Covid will still be around. That means 50 guests, no dancing, and reception TBA pending on how things look. Unless we see solid evidence in the late spring that the general population are getting vaccinated (and that they're working!) and there's very low/no risk of community spread, we're not budging on our safety measures.
