We just entered third lockdown .. and the city hall where I was going to get our licence from just told me they’re not issuing them during lockdown which goes until May 1. Our elopement is scheduled for May 23 ... it’s cutting it way close! Is there anywhere else in Ontario to get it?
Check in your area with city halls to know if marriage license are being issued and for how much because every city has a different price. I had done my research to seek one place thinking it was reasonable until I made calls in different areas to find the lowest price at a flat price closer to us.
I did find it made a big difference finding prices way higher in some areas as to others. We paid $100 opposed to $150 + tax.
Thanks everyone, turns out many offices are either closed OR only servicing residents of that same area. BUT as mentioned north York civic centre is doing them! Yay! I got my appt for May 7!!
I think all Toronto licenses are done through an appointment at North York Civic Centre. They're trying to lessen the load of visitors to downtown city hall.
