Marriage Licence Application

Courtney, on April 2, 2018 at 12:34 Posted in Ontario 0 3

I'm starting to pull together everything I need to get the actual Marriage Lincence.

This form has a section for "Religious Domination". Anyone know if this HAS to be filled out? Or by what criteria?

My partner was baptised Catholic but I'm not really anything.

My mum's Jewish and my dad's United so I grew up with a bit of everything.

We are not religious at all and we both just put Atheist or Agnostic in that section.

I imagine you don't need to complete this, or at least don't need to complete it with a stated religion, because a marriage license is inherently a secular, non-religious permit to wed. But certainly either ask your officiant and/or call city hall for an expert opinion

I would call city hall or whoever you got it from to ask that question. I'm really unsure about it.
