A question to all my happily married brides ! How long after the wedding did you wait to apply for your marriage certificate ? Iv heard 3 weeks , someone told me 10-12 . Just wondering how long people have had to wait ?

    Ontario residents have to wair 3 months after the wedding to get the wedding certificate. It is also stated on the government website.

    Our officiant told us to apply online within four weeks. It honestly depends on how fast you need it. If you're not doing any name changes, you can take your time.

    In Ontario you do need to apply so the previous comment isnt helpful to you haha. I believe it was 8 weeks for us but you can go online and try and it'll tell you if they've received the paperwork yet or not. Just depends how long it takes them to process it when they receive it from the officiant - I'm pretty sure.

    We never had to apply for it. Our pastor sent our marraige license in and in about 3 weeks we received our marriage certificate
