Hi brides to be!!
Is anyone having issues with Madison Greenhouse venue?? And if so do you have any tips?
They have new owners that don’t seem to know what they are doing and have now pulled their open bar option, which I chose and I’m now responsible for supplying the alcohol. I chose this venue and signed the contract after I had confirm that I was choosing the open bar package. It has also taken me several months to get a hold of someone at this venue. Just wanting to know if anyone else is struggling with is and am I sol with my deposit?? Thanks!! -B

Oh no! That’s terrible. My fiancé and I looked at this venue a couple months ago as we were really interested in the style venue. When we arrived for the tour, there were multiple other couples there same time so it felt a bit rushed. However, Sophie was very responsive via email when inquiring about the different packages. Post in your local wedding sell/swap groups on Facebook. You might able to find another couple with the same situation

If the contract came with an open bar and they decided to pull out, they can't continue to charge for the open bar. A venue cannot unilaterally change the terms of the contract and expect you to just take it.
Are you being tasked to supply your own servers as well or are they still providing that. Are they charging you for the servers? If not, this might work out for you as you can bring in your own alcohol from the LCBO, which will be significantly cheaper than buying drinks at the venue. The only caveat is, you'll have to lug all of the drinks to the venue and get a Special Occasion Permit and insurance (assuming they won't be buying the drinks off their liquor license).

When we were searching for venues I reached out to Madison Gardens and never heard back from them also! We ended up moving on and finding a different venue. I really hope you figure out your situation cause thats very annoying to deal with!
