This is probably the most inexpensive way to go with Michael's, especially with the coupons they have in their flyers so frequently for 25-50% off a single item or entire purchase.

Stephanie is right that dark shirts work better. I would also check if the transfer you are buying have any sort of tint to the background. There are some that come out clear and others that have a yellow-ish tint to the transfer square (meaning you may need to crop or account for the yellow that in your design).

Michael's where I am also sells solid coloured tanks and shirts rather inexpensive (especially so again with the coupons).

Bachelorette things can be found at the dollar store, Michaels (on sale) or like a Spencers if you have them in the mall near you. If you have time, keep an eye out for sales.

and call local tee making places. there is a place in my city that will usually make custom tanks and tees for 20-25 (depending on shirt and the amount of colours).

Oh wow sorry I missed the whole transfers part! You can buy them at Michael's for like 16 bucks for a box of 10 transfers! Get the ones made for dark shirts they are MUCH better quality! You can print on them or even just hand cut them out to what you want! I've used them a bunch with and without printing for costumes and they're great!

I actually saw "The Bride" and "Bride Tribe" tank tops at Urban Planet the other day! I was tempted to buy them but my MOH said she'd going to be doing some for us! Have a look in malls at stores like Urban Planet, Urban Outfitters, Spencer's, Hot Topic! They might have something!!
