Looking for guidance on a Zoom wedding & Invitation

Stephanie, on July 6, 2020 at 16:40 Posted in Wedding ceremony 1 7
We're going ahead with our wedding plans in November, but will invite only 5 people to join us physically under these circumstances. That said, we were thinking of sharing a video recap with all of our friends and family after the day but now I'm curious about including people through Zoom... I just have no idea how to do that - how to invite and manage. Anyone out there go or going this route and if yes, I'd welcome some guidance and advice. Thanks!!!!

Thank you for all of this great advice! I definitely don't want the stress of the tech side and will gladly hand that over... 🥰🤗 I'll also check out PaperlessPost. I've been playing around with Greenvelope designs, but happy to see more options! Thanks again!

If you are doing a Zoom call live for your ceremony, have someone else there in charge of the tech end of things. You don’t want to be the person in charge of making sure the camera is at the right angle and the sound is working etc. Make sure in advance people willing be able to see and hear you from where you are standing. It is very easy to share the Zoom link, just copy and paste and email it out (I used PaperlessPost to send out invites for my Zoom shower). You can also set up your zoom so that everyone is automatically muted and their cameras are off when they join (turning the cameras off can help prevent lag if you have lots of people logging in at once).

You being the host will do what is suggested by Kelsie. I have had invitations to Zoom family chats by hosts who control the mute button is someone is typing or texting during the chat. You can invite whoever you wish and send them a link.

I actually do this a lot for work. You have to create a Zoom account - unfortunately, zoom only allows a certain amount of time for free - so to be safe, I’d sign up for a 30 day membership.

Then you go through zoom to set up a call (set the date and time for your ceremony) and you can either copy a link to send to people or invite them by email directly - whichever works best for you.
    I hope this helps!
