Long-sleeved wedding dress

Samantha, on April 1, 2017 at 16:41 Posted in Wedding Tests 0 12

Hi everyone!
I have had my heart set on a long-sleeved wedding dress. I'm thinking vintage, lace, and ivory for my fall ceremony. Has anyone worn a long-sleeved dress? My experience in trying them on in stores has not been good. They are SO restrictive, not allowing me to reach my arms above my shoulders. Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks Smiley smile

I would keep looking. I wanted sleeves on my dress but settled on a sweetheart neckline. I included a photo of the dress I was thinking about. It was not restrictive at all but I found it a bit warm (I’m having an outdoor ceremony in August).

did not find them restricting but perhaps it’s because the dresses I tried on were only illusion of off the shoulder. I think the off the shoulder aspect would affect your mobility more than the sleeves themselves.

I had the same problem when i was trying them on. The seamstress at the place i bought my dress suggested that i could always have something made custom to me to allow movement. The sample sizes are built ona maniquein and real people and their arms are all different

Thanks for your input everyone!! Some great ideas Smiley smile I ended up finding a dress ("Jianna" by Pronovias). The lace is much softer than any other brand I've tried on, so the sleeves weren't itchy or restricting! I hope everyone's planning is going well!

I'm about to go wedding dress shopping this coming week, so I can't provide exact insight yet, but how about a three-quarter or 't-shirt' lace sleeve? Or dresses with minimal lace like below?

I tried on a few long sleeve dresses and found the same thing and that they were generally itchy. Maybe Kate is right and a bolero or something of the sort is the best option for comfort and coverage.

I am doing a long sleeve bolero, to cover my arms, and if I want to take it off later I can. Not feeling restricted.
