Live in one provence and want to get married in another. what did u have to do to make it work?

First friend lives here in quebec, got married in ottawa but cannot change her last name to her husbands as their permanent address is a quebec one. We got married in BC with each of us being from a different province. We just had to follow the rules of marriage in BC, that's all.
The only thing you need to take into account getting married in Quebec is that by law you are not allowed to take your husband's last name. It's actually part of the ceremony that they read the excerpt of the law code stating that each of you retains the exact same names you had before entering into the union of marriage.
