Line dances - yea or nay?

Lynnie, on October 7, 2018 at 18:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 13

From the Cotton Eye Joe to the Cha-Cha Slide, do you like line dance songs at wedding receptions? Or are they on your "do not play list"? Are you in or out on line dances at your wedding reception?

I have a few that I am completely over after working on a cruise ship and hearing them twice a day, every day for 2 years.

ymca, chicken dance, conga line, macarena, even cha cha slide. but people LOVE the cha cha slide. so if it helps the flow and people are dancing/having fun. who cares.

I personally love cupid shuffle and the wobble. hahah

The only 2 we will allow are Candy by Cameo, and Dollar Wine by Byron Lee.

We’re having a brunch reception so likely no dancing. The 2 listed songs will be a great way to integrate and represent our American and Caribbean cultures.

I am so over these dances. It is good that everyone knows them, and many will join in which is fun, but I do not want every single one done at my wedding.

We will go through a list of these dances and pick out the ones we like and the rest will be on a do not play list

Definitely not happening at our wedding! I honestly have never seen this occur at any wedding tbh.

Ot it was to happen, cha cha slide most likely at most weddings. We didn't have either.

My guilty pleasure is the Cha-Cha Slide so I might play that one, but I'm over the rest!

I'm actually super excited for having a few line dances at my wedding! I know that we talked about potentially hiring an instructor to teach a line dance for my bachelorette party! Lol

This will be a hard no from me. My FH has also compiled a Do Not Play List of basic club songs that he can't stand.

I'm over them being played at weddings. Those songs will be on our DNP list for sure!
