Lake Louise honeymoon?

Kathy, on June 26, 2021 at 11:26 Posted in Honeymoon 0 4

Hi all!

My fiancé and I are thinking about a honeymoon at Lake Louise.

Our wedding has been postponed a couple of times now. Our new date is June 25, 2022.

We have decided to keep our honeymoon in Canada. Still not comfortable at the thought of international travel yet.

Has anyone honeymoon’d there?

I was in Banff when I was 21 but…..at that age I was more interested in a party than anything else lol

Looks like it would be beautiful!!!

We live in Calgary and head to the mountains every weekend. I think Lake Louise or surrounding areas would be great for a honeymoon! If you’re active there’s tons to do (hiking, biking, water activities) with a mix of pampering (spas, places to spend the day relaxing). Lake Louise itself is quite busy though, even without international travel the past year. (actually all mountain towns have been pretty busy haha). If you stay in the town of Lake Louise you’ll hopefully avoid the traffic/parking issues accessing the lake+Moraine Lake, but staying in the town itself could get a little “boring” after a few days - but that’s just my opinion, I have done everything around here so as a “first time visitor” it may not be as boring. You may want to explore more of the area as well - Banff, Canmore are only an hour away for day trips, or you could go up the Icefields Parkway or towards Golden. I suggest following some of the Instagram accounts for these areas to get inspired on where you want to go and what you want to do! End of June is a lovely time to come as well. Lake Louise only has a few hotels and they book up fairly quick so maybe start looking at booking as soon as you’ve decided where you want to go. (I imagine costs will go up when international travel opens). Banff and Canmore have more hotels and mix of costs. Airbnb is only allowed in Canmore if that’s your interest!

Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, and Calgary are all so close to each other that I would hit up all the spots depending on how much time you have.

Banff is beautiful and I think would be a great honeymoon spot. There's so many things to do and see. My fiamce and I go twice a year once in the winter to go snowboarding and at least once or twice in the summer!
