Kitchen Charm???

Amanda, on October 10, 2018 at 10:00 Posted in Before the wedding 0 9
Hey everyone! So i attended a bridal show in Brantford recently and about a week later recieved a call from kitchen charm stating all i had to do was attend the demonstration I would recieve 2 free wedding bands, customized champagne flutes and an all inclusive 2 night 3 day trip to bahamas/mexico/dominican or I could choose a two night hotel stay in either Canada or U.S. now at first I was like I get this for attending Im game! But now after reading some stuff im hearing its a scam its not actually how it sounds you get it but have to pay shipping or have to pay for the travel to get there! Just wondering if anyone has gone to one and do you actually get it or is it really a scam!

It’s absolutely a scam. They lied to my fiancé and I and said that it was an all inclusive trip to anywhere we wanted to go in the world but we just have to pay for flight and taxes and when you get the paperwork regarding the trip you see otherwise.

That happened to me. I went, i purchased their pots, (AMAZING QUALITY BTW). you do have to pay some minor things but the way I look at it is, the amount you actually have to pay in comparison to the actual trip cost, is nothing, so if you don't want to pay anything, just don't take the trip.

Yes they have amazing pot sets and baking ware. They want you to attend their cooking demostration and purchase one or more packages to recieve the gifts. The only catch is you pay the shipping. My husband and I attended one of their demo.

They target couples that are engaged. Payment plans are available and deposit required of 10% of the total.

I got that same phone call (it was left as a voicemail)... the kicker though? I haven't actually attended any Bridal Shows sooooo... yeah. They were definitely lying about me "winning" this opportunity at the bridal show I "attended"...

Does sound scammy to me.... I had something similar happen a long time ago back in university with a demo leading to free things.... the demo ended up being 1.5 hours of pure boredom and then yeah... you were just ENTERED into a draw (which I honestly believe no winner was picked from)

They do the same thing here in Vancouver... I think it was though if you attended their sales pitch, you were entered to win a week in Mexico or something... So it was probably all included, but if 20 couples went, only one couple wins....

I didn't bother. They called me over and over again too until I picked up and told them to get lost....

I met them at a bridal show. didn't go to the show. read reviews on them. I've heard AWESOME things about the products (if you are into cooking they are excellent quality). but overall the whole process seems like a scam if you aren't careful to read the fine print. there was a LONG thread on USA WW forums. Some people had good experiences. I would just google/read up on it some more.

if you aren't purchasing. attending may be worth it. because you do get something free or a coupon for it. and the cost of that free item could be worth it (that's what I was reading on WW).

Something similar happened to me in Thunder Bay, I can't remember the company but I was invited to attend a demo and had chances to win Awesome Prizes!

I couldn't go since it was held on a night that I was out of town, but usually if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Also listen to your gut if it's saying it's a scam. Usually there is hidden fees to the freebies

I went! Basically they try and sell you their pans. They’re pretty convincing about how worth it they are- they had pretty much talked my fiancé into it until I went and basically explained to him that they were not worth it to us.

You do have to pay taxes and shipping and such- but that’s standard for any prize or contest so I don’t really see that as a scam. We did get the rings, they’re very nice rings we paid $50 for shipping and it took like 8 weeks to get them. We don’t really have the extra money to use for the hotel so we decided against doing that but we do have the coupon for it. Obviously there’s restrictions on when you can use it, as is standard when you win things that are free. I think people go in expecting to just be handed stuff but like there’s always something like that with free things, that doesn’t mean it’s a scam. They do give you the coupons. Just be prepared for these pots to sound like the holy grail and remember you can not justify paying about $10,000 on pots.
