My family is keeping this one for sure. They're very excited about it and I think my FMIL is throwing me one with her family and friends as well.

Doing it. Long story short, my mom's family made her wedding a tenth level nightmare from what I was told by forcing their own opinions and choices on her, so she wanted to be involved in ours but is always worried about it turning into the same situation. Having her host and have free reign on the Bridal Shower was a great option to feel involved without worry! :-)

Don't know. I'm not desperate for one so we'll see if our families plan anything.

I really thought I would be able to skip this but we ended up making a last minute trip to visit family and they decided to surprise me.

Well I was going to skip. But my coworker said she wanted to plan something. So i guess im having one. Neither her or i know what they actually are, or what people do at them, so advice would be great. She says we should do conventional stuff. We just dont know what that is.

Keeping! I can not wait! I want to do a potluck, and have everyone write the recipe for the item they bring, so I can start a recipe box/book.

We were planning on having a bride and groom wedding party, since we didn't have an engagement party. But now since we live on a different province I don't think we will be able to unfortunately so we will have to skip this..

I wanted to skip this, but my mom really wants to host one, so why not! It will be nice to visit with my family and friends. I am going to use the opportunity to see what wine to get for the reception. Blind taste test and everyone casts their vote and the winning wine will be served at dinner!

Showers are prettttty misogynistic. The purpose of showers was originally to set the woman up to be “in the home” which is 50 shades of no thank you for me. This being said my MOH’s mama wants to host so I’m gonna let her, but I told her the theme best be “I am woman, hear me roar. Reclaiming the shower Smiley winking

My mom really wants to do one for the family, so we're going to do it! I just don't want it to be about sitting there watching the bride-to-be opening gifts. I just want to spend time with everyone and celebrate Smiley smile

I couldn't tell you if this is going to happen. I thought my MOH would end up planning this but she's not really MOH material... so this will likely be skipped.

Keeping the bridal shower, but hopefully skipping the cheesy games. Though if the people planning it want to do things like the games, for them I would get through it haha.

I don't plan on it happening but if I were to be surprised with one then that would be a different story. I don't really see the point but if someone really really wants to arrange one for me then ok. I like the idea of spending time with everyone, I just hate gifts

Skipped for same reason engagement party was, too little time between engagement and wedding.
