Maybe it's just down in Southern Ontario but I had only ever heard the term Stag & Doe until signing up for this website!

I'm originally from southern Ontario, so shags were funny to me. It's crazy how anyone can go to support the couple vs a buck & doe where only friends and family go.

We had a Stag and Doe that his parents put together for us in Sault Ste Marie. I'm used to having a "shag" just like Danyelle. Stag and Does are completely different than our shags though. Wasn't what I was expecting at all lol but we still made money which is a plus

Thanks, Daphne. Most people will still recognize the name "Jack and Jill" and will understand what goes on at this gathering. Introducing a new name could leave you having to answer repeatedly, "What's that?"

I think you could probably use any male/female combination you want to such as Ken and Barbie, Lucy and Ricky, Fred and Wilma, Ram and Ewe, etc.

I think Stag and Doe is the other term for it.
