It's 3 days till my wedding!!

Sonja, on September 20, 2017 at 23:12 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 18

I was so happy to chose a date at the end of September when the leaves would be changing and the weather would be cooler. NOT!! Sunday is supposed to be 30 and with the humidity it will be 37 degrees!! We're having an outdoor ceremony and I'm sure we're all going to melt. What are the chances that there's a heat wave in southern Ontario at the end of September. I won't be able to curl my hair as it will just go flat. If I leave it down, it will be frizzy and I'll be too hot. The only choice I have is to wear a high pony tail. Do you think that will look silly? And BTW, I'm canning the panty hose. Forget that!

Ashley, I'm dreading it. I hope nobody faints in the heat. The ceremony is about 20 minutes outdoors. Then we'll all run back to the venue into the air conditioning. LOL.

Thank you, Shauna. Everyone thinks an updo would be the thing to do but I'm not very good with hair. I don't want to pay hairdresser prices, either. I'll put some smoothing cream in my hair to counteract the frizz. Hope that works. Can't believe the kind of weather you're getting there! We're roasting down here.

Congrats! That's so exciting. Maybe do an updo with your hair to control the frizz. My hair frizzes and shrinks in the humidity, so that would be my best bet. And the heat wave you're having sounds awesome to me. I'm in Alberta and it's been snowing, raining, overcast, and cold ALL WEEK LONG! Smiley ups

Thanks, Erin. At least we'll have air conditioning in the venue. Yes, it's the beginning of a new life.

I picked sleeveless too, and not full length either, thank goodness. I'm not very good at putting my hair up but I tried the high ponytail yesterday with some strips of tulle tied around it and a comb with pearls sitting just above the elastic. It looked pretty and since I'm not wearing a veil, it looked a little more bridal than without anything. I hope everything runs smoothly for your wedding on Saturday. You'll have to post pictures.

You could try a low bun at the nape of your neck or just above. It would look chic and classic while keeping you cool... I feel you on this, though. I'm getting married Saturday and I'm so glad I didn't pick a dress with sleeves like I originally wanted! With September weather, you jut never know!

    Have fun on Sunday!

It's so muggy outside. I feel for you. My wedding is next August and I'm sure I will run into the same issue. I think Lesley is onto something, though! I've made my own hair donut out of a dark sock, cut the end off and roll it up, then put your hair in a pony tail, slide the donut on and wrap your hair around it. Usually it'll only require 2 or 3 Bobby pins. It's a beautiful formal look, it's not much more effort than a pony tail. You got this!

Oh Lesley, It's just too much effort. I know that sounds silly since it's my wedding but I just can't be bothered. I'll probably be hot and cranky. Nice attitude, isn't it? I've been looking up photos of brides with ponytails and bangs. They are simple but nice. I might put a pearl comb above it or try to make something using a bit of tulle since I'm not having a veil.

I wish I knew how. I've always worn my hair down plus it's quite fine. The best I can do is a ponytail.

How exciting! You could always go for one of those donut ponytail things that makes a really pretty bun and they're easy enough to do

Hi Lyssa, I was thinking of half up and half down but it still might be too hot in my neck. Plus I have thin hair so splitting it will make it look even thinner. Yes, I'll bring a fan (I have one of those Spanish type fans that open with the flick of the wrist). Tonight I bought some make up primer and powder for oily skin in hopes that my make up will last more than 10 minutes.

Ah that's so unfortunate! Smiley sad Check out Pinterest for cute wedding updos (or even in the prom section) or maybe half up & half down? Bring a paper fan or one of those little battery operated fans you can get at the Dollarstore lol. And find some kind of god sent makeup setting spray ahaha. I hope it all works out somehow! Make the best of what you're given. ☺ Peace & love ✌❤
