is it essential to have a cake?

Kira, on June 27, 2016 at 17:23 Posted in Wedding reception 0 10

I think I just found the best idea ever! I saw beautiful fruit arrangements and I definitely want to make that! I saw different ones where I could make different shapes like fruit bouquets and it looks awesome and easy to do! I could even put them on different table as a centerpiece. I am just wondering if I should still order a cake? Is it weird to not have a cake?

Hi Kira,That is awesome and the fact your are doing both is great! We are having cake at our wedding, dessert for the guests is New York Style Cheesecake with guests being able to choose their flavour for their sauce. We will not be having a dessert buffet at our wedding.

Hi Simone, yes I think we'll go for the cake and fruits in the end so we'll probably need to have a dessert table. I'm looking for ideas of how could decorate it right now, and will call a few places this week for the fruit arrangement. What about you? Will you have a dessert table?

I really like this idea Nelly, thank you. I think we will get a cake too, but we're seeing right now what kind of fruit arrangement we could have. Maybe have a fondue as well on the side Smiley smile

Hi Kira, I think fruit arrangements as an alternative to having a cake is a great idea. Smiley smile I would say it not mandatory to have cake since couples are opting for cupcakes as well. Are you having a dessert table at your reception?

Wow! Amzing ideas! They look delicious!

I think I would like tropical fruits like mangos, pineapple, bananas, oranges, and also strawberries and raspberries like in these pictures. Maybe a bit too sweet for the chocolate but I love the "fruit cake" from the first picture Smiley love
