Is a Grand Entrance a must?

Mackenzie, on January 9, 2024 at 09:47 Posted in Wedding reception 0 2

My fiancé and | are having a super non-traditional wedding. Our ceremony is right next to the reception hall and starts at 7pm (it'll be super short around 10 minutes) and then the reception is starting immediately after.

We aren't doing a cocktail hour and we plan to get pictures done earlier in the day so we can go straight to the partying after the ceremony. We aren't doing assigned seating and our meal will just be a few food stations rather then a seated meal service. We aren't big on attention and know we will be getting a lot on that day and we aren't sold on actually wanting a grand entrance. Everyone we've told this to in our wedding party thinks we're crazy but is it really necessary?

It'll be a very small wedding with around 60 people just immediate family/ friends so everyone there will have just seen the ceremony and watched us get announced as a couple... Is this something we can skip like speeches or will it be confusing for guests?

I don't think it's a must in your situation. You can definitely skip it if you feel like you don't need it. Just remember it's your wedding and your and your partner can do whatever you want!

Since you're doing a cocktail style wedding that takes place immediately after your ceremony, then no you don't need a grand entrance. Your walk down the aisle for the ceremony will pretty much be the equivalent.

If you have an MC, get them to announce the party starts immediately next door after the procession/end of ceremony.
