Invite ceremony musician to reception?

Lizzy, on January 17, 2022 at 22:57 Posted in Wedding reception 0 2

Hey everyone!

We’ve asked my friend to play music for our ceremony, but she isn’t comfortable performing solo, so I asked my former private music teacher to accompany her. My friend is invited to the reception (which is at a different venue) because we’re pretty close, but I’m not sure whether to extend the invitation to my teacher as well (I haven’t seen her in 2 years and don’t keep in as close contact with her).

Any advice?

If your music teacher is coming as a vendor I wouldnt extend the invitation for reception. With everything that is going in that may be a spot you need for someone you are close to. If you have the room in your budget and aren't worried about having too many people you could invite if you wanted to.

Are you paying your teacher like a regular vendor? If so, I would say it's not necessary to invite her to the reception. It would be like inviting the officiant to the reception. Would your teacher enjoy herself at the reception without a plus one?
