Invitations - To diy or not?

Sendims, on June 24, 2018 at 15:43 Posted in DIY 0 15

Hi,

just wondering what did you all do for your invitations. Did you get them done professionally or did you DIY them? Is there a great difference in cost?

Thanks.

I bought mine from Vistaprint. I waited for a 50% off sale so they only cost $50 after tax and shipping. I couldn't have made them for less. I'm very happy with how they turned out

I found there was a huge price difference. I ended up getting my invitations and rsvps with envelopes for 100 people for under $50 and all I have to do is print them. Getting them professionally done would have cost me a few hundred

We paid between $15-$20 for someone on Etsy to design them & then she sent us the finished copy in which we downloaded. We then ordered invites, sealing stickers & address stickers on Vistaprint (when it was 50%) off. We did end up fancy-ing them up a bit, and used Michaels 40-50% off coupons to buy everything!

We were so happy with how they turned out, and it cost a fraction of what it would have been elsewhere.

We did Vistaprint for all our stationery and got it on their big 50% off sale. It's great because there's design sets and all you have to do is plug in your info and pay. I think it was worth it in time saved for sure.

I did our invites myself, I just had them printed the same way you print photos, worked out well and most people loved it

I had found a design I like from Etsy but will order the digital copy sometimes in March next year. I think most probably I will print with Vista Print.

We used Paperless Post for our invites. It's an earth and budget friendly way to send invites and so easy to keep track of everything online. I would highly recommend it if you're okay with moving away from the traditional route Smiley smile

We did evites through Paperless Post since we are not doing a traditional wedding (read: surprise wedding), and are just disguising it as an engagement party. Smiley smile

I did paper invites for my last wedding, and did them on Vista Print. I was happy with the results.

Vistaprint has great prices, personally they did not have a style that matched my wedding theme so I went on Etsy and there was a perfect one there. I only required the invite, none of the other extras like save the dates etc, so she quoted me for 10 bucks to get the pdf with all my information on it. Priced it at a local print store to see how much it would cost to get them printed, and it was $50 for 100 invites. Small price to pay to have the perfect invite! Best of luck.

If you're looking for quality at a decent price, there are many websites such as Vistaprint that have low prices, great customer service, and product quality. While I don't intend to order my invitations through Vistaprint, my fiancé and I ordered our save-the-dates from them, which we will receive closer to the end of August. My previous employer used to have me create and order marketing material from Vistaprint and we were always happy with the results. If we weren't, they were always accommodating and fixed any error(s) for free.

I decided to do Vistaprint for all my stationery needs. They have lots of great options and have good discounts every now and again. I just bought everything recently with their 50% off sale and it all came in this week looking wonderful on good quality card stock. It was definitely cheaper than if I went another route but didn't look cheap.

If you go to companies for making cards, the price can add up to $5 a card. That is including everyrhing you need. Online costs much less and looks as good as the custom made. I was looking into them myself until i was quoted $4.50 plus tax. Thank goodness i didn't though.

My FMIL is a Graphic Designer, so she helped us A LOT. We bought invitation kits from Michaels and then she helped us print them.

I assume we saved a lot of money, I never actually quoted invitation places. But there are definitely pros to both.

Diy is great if you can find the right paper and thickness. Writing can be the easy part as you get to design the pattern, font, size and colour. Only holdback may be the envelopes due to the size needing to create. RSVP cards also need to be created if your considering it as addition. It will take tome and effort for the most part.

Sites such as vistaprint, etsy and more allow you to browse, personally add information and patterns if wanted.

I personally ordered from vistaprint due to savings sent by emails.
