Invitations-order from a site or Diy?

Rebecca O, on August 13, 2021 at 14:04 Posted in Before the wedding 0 10
Hello everyone! I just wanted to get a bit of an opinion on what others have done for invitations. We are looking at ordering from Vista print as we have a 50% off our entire order code, but I’m also curious about making them myself from Canva and getting them printed at a store such as staples for example. I haven’t done the math on it all quite yet (but I plan to), just wanted to see what others were planning/have done! Thanks! 😊

I'll see if I can find the code. We got it from signing up for a free sample pack. Not sure when it expires though!

I don't. I'm just signed up for their emails to watch for sales!

I love Canva haha I’m just torn because with the code from Vista print it will be much cheaper 😅

So I had planned to print off my designs from canva (I printed my youngest’s first birthday invites there and they were beautiful and amazing quality) but now that I’m seeing the comments here I think I might just print my design elsewhere 😅

It depends on how intricate you are making them. If you're just doing a flat layout print with zero embossing, textures, special layers, or metallic foil, you can literally go to any mom and pop shop and it should cost you no more than $30 + cost of standard postcard sized envelopes. In my experience, any price difference Vistaprint may have will be erased once they put in delivery fees.

We're going with Vistaprint! I like their templates and can't be bothered to deal with designing it myself in canva!

My fiance and I have gone with Gartner Studios .
We picked up the box sets from Michaels for $25 for a 50 pack. 50 invites, 50 envelopes, 50 reply cards and 50 envelopes for reply cards. The box has a code to use for each template and we're able to write whatever we like for our invites as well as font, color etc. And then we print them right from home.
