Intimate Ceremony

Kelsi, on April 1, 2020 at 22:55 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 4

Hi everyone,

July bride here. We were originally going to do a backyard wedding but with about 90-100 guests. Our plan B is to just have an outdoor intimate ceremony still in the backyard but only with our immediate family members and a few friends.

Curious to know what other brides are doing...

- Are you just having a ceremony? Would you incorporate a cocktail hour, cake cutting (i.e. things that can still occur if guests still have to be 2 meters apart). Are you serving any food - appies? plated dinner? Or eliminating all of that and bride and groom just do a romantic dinner on their own?

Any ideas! Still want to day to feel special and not be over after a 30 minute ceremony!

The spacing rule may not be applied by then if this situation is cleared and on track. Your backyard wedding will carry on as planned as guests will enjoy themselves being there for you both. Given the circumstances this situation may occur then, cutting back may be the solution as said to limited family and friends to attend and have all you have arranged. Wedding cake can be smaller if decided and 1 slab to avoid wastage. Time will tell when its near and you have to make the decision to cut down ahead of time or proceed as planned.

See what happens closer to july but in ontario you cant have any gatherings over 5 people and they are going around ticketing people. so if this is still instate when july comes you wont be able to do that. but if everything is fine by then i would do it all have an entire wedding ceremony with reception and everything!

Continuation from my original post . Hopefully things will change by July. However, If you're having a smaller wedding due to Covid, as long as you're following by laws with the number of people allowed to gather, i'm pretty sure you can incorporate similar elements, so that you can still feel special on your day, while social distancing! You could also do some games that would be similar to Bridal shower games, dancing etc ( if you're into that stuff) while social distancing! Hope this helps.

Hi there. Got engaged in January and I'm at a stand still in the planning process due to Covid. I've changed my mind so many times since January. I'm planning on getting married June/July 2021.

Due to Covid and the economy me and my partner are pretty sure we're sticking with having a ceremony only wedding. Our original tentative guest list was 120 people. Not sure how many will attend a ceremony only wedding.
I'm planning to book one of the venues we saw, as they do ceremony only weddings. We'll have the venue for about 3-4 hours. We'll have a ceremony in the early afternoon, for around 30minutes. This will be followed by individual/group pictures and a cocktail hour with lawn games. We'll have music throughout. I'll probably make mini cake souvenirs for everyone and hand them out at the end of cocktail hour. Then the day is done! Might potentially go out afterwards for dinner with a few close friends/family or just me and my partner. Details have not been fully planned out
