I'm struggling to envision my wedding reception centerpieces and decor.

Pinterest hasn't been much help either.... Not sure what to do!

I want something simple but elegant - my colours are peach, black, maroon, silver and gold. It will be an Autumn wedding. I wanted to do something bedazzled all at once too but I don't want it to cost thousands either.

I am also struggling to find a decor rental place that can do receptions for more than 250+ people and I have had no luck.

I would love to hear everyone's input.

Hi Silkey! I'd love to help you find a decor rental company to help you with your vision. Have you looked through WeddingWire's vendor listings? Here are our listings for decor in BC and here are the listings for event rentals. What are you looking to rent? Whereabouts in BC are you getting married?

Thank you everyone for your input - it most definitely helps me see things a little better and see from different perspectives. We have more than 250 people, its over 300 just don't have exact numbers. It's a traditional reception/ceremony so I'm trying to keep it that way but I really want to modernize things cause I'm not a huge fan of the colour schemes used in our culture haha. I think I am going to look into DIY decor because a decorator is definitely expensive, our budget is 30k and that's without the outfits, decorator, florist, DJ and a couple other huge things. I thought I was giving myself enough time to plan this wedding but it seems to be creeping up so fast, felt like yesterday it was 500+ days. If you have any other helpful tips please send them to me, I could use all the help as possible. Smiley smile

For the autumn wedding you could do leaves or branches in your centrepiece and can paint the tips or the veins of the leaves in various colours in your scheme? Or do the branches as the main centerpiece and the leaves on the table around it? Just an idea that I think would be really cute and should be inexpensive

What can't the decor people do receptions of more than 250 ppl? I would say nowadays that's low compared to some weddings! For example I have 250 which equals about 25 Tables and rental needs for 25 centre pieces. Maybe you need a company with more items available? Try going for unconventional decor like no flowers and mostly candles or use the dollar store for inspo. Remember you can spray paint most stuff and diy a lot and keep it simple yet beautiful! I can relate, hiring a decorator can be expensive.

To get you ideas, i had my cousin send me pics of my centerpieces/money box which i rented too for a low cost.

Replace the beads if chosen to fake crystals with coloured water. Hope this helps.

If you plan on renting your decor, I would definitely look for someone to rent from first, and see what options they may have first before picking some decor. That is a lot of colours too, so it may be a good idea to choose from your other colours rather than your main ones. Which colour will the bridesmaid's dresses be? What colours are your flowers? Are you looking for florals in your centrepieces or non-florals? Do you want them to be all tall or all small or a mixture of both? Answering some of these questions may help narrow down the search a bit.

I feel like you are going to end up doing what I am doing - my guest list is 250 people and as much as me and my FH want purple and blue, we can't chose the shades until we have met with a linens caterer or a decorator. From there we will see what the options are for the amount we will need. I recommend looking to see where you can get the amount of linens/decor that you will need and then look at what they have available.
